Federal and state prosecutions and indictments of doctors, pharmacists, pharmacies, website owners and website affiliates concerning the sale of prescription drugs (both controlled substances and noncontrolled substances) over the internet via internet pharmacies and online consultation services have substantially increased in the last few years.  Moreover, the Ryan Haight Act (Ryan Haight Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act), which was passed in October 2008 and becomes effective in April 2009 as an amendment to the Controlled Substances Act, is the source of tremendous legal controversy.  It is the goal of InternetDrugLaw.com to intensively analyze internet pharmacy, drug, and prescription law from a criminal defense attorney’s perspective.  This analysis includes discussions of recent indictments, prosecutions, plea bargains, and civil settlements with website owners, pharmacies, doctors and affiliates with respect to online controlled and noncontrolled substance sales, as well as to generally provide intensive criminal defense legal discussion of internet pharmacy law and the pharmaceutical industry
